2026 — “The Blessed Works”

2026 — “The Blessed Works”

We dedicate our family calendar for 2026 “The Blessed Works” to mark the 100 anniversary of our needlewoman, Svetlana Babushkina. We accompany her creations with the poems by one of the most signifi cant Russian poets Anna Akhmatova, from whose poem “To an Artist” we choose the title of the calendar, which refl ects with our feelings when we look at the art by needle we inherited:

Your paintings still before mine eyes are fl oating,
Your blessed works, that ever with me stay:
The ever-autumn lindens’ gilded coating,
The blue of water made by you today.

Translation by John Woodsworth

For so many years you have been putting a smile on my face when I open the big envelope. All calendars were beautiful and the ones with your Mom's art/embroidery are very special. I also enjoyed poems printed on many.

Dear Galina,

First of all, happy birthday to your mother, the Needlewoman! I am sure she’s smiling down on her family so grateful for the beautiful way you keep her memory and artwork alive.
Once again the symmetry between art and poetry is amazingly beautiful!

Thank you for the calendar!

All my best,
Julie
